At the recent Summer Long Course Championships in Saint John, New Brunswick, 3 swimmers were elected as Junior Athletes for Maine Swimming. They will serve a two-year term representing the swimmers at the House of Delegates meetings and other meetings of Maine Swimming. Mariah Brady (NYCY), Ashley Cryer (SYT), and Leila Johnston (MDIY) will be gin their terms on September 1. The present Junior Athlete reps Travis Libsack (CBRY), Emma Waddell (BYB) and Syndey Wight (CMA) will now become the Senior Athlete Reps to the Maine Swimming Board of Directors....
The Seacoast Swim Club is looking for a new Head Swim Coach for the 2013-14 swim season. SSC is based in Cumberland, ME and uses Greely High School for its training. The link contains the information for the postition.
We will be taking no new registrations at the clinic on Saturday. The Flyer for the Breakout Clinic featuring Olympians Rowdy Gaines and Conor Dwyer. Maine Swimming will host Mutual of Omaha's Breakout Clinic on October 5, 2013 at the Bath YMCA from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. All regsitered Maine Swimmers are urged to attend this great event. The Summer Zone Applications for both Coaches and Swimmers is now available. Any swimmer wishing to go the meet in Richmond from August 7 - 10 should complete the application and send to Jim Willis. Swimmers must have at least a 'AA' time too compete at the meet. Any coach wishing to go to the meet must complete the Coach Application for the meet. Please return all information by July 26. James Wells of Indiana University and Long Reach Swim Club (Bath YMCA) was named to the USA team for the World University Games that begin in two weeks. Congrats to James and his former coaches Jay & Sponge.
