MSI Official's Clinic - ALL interested adults should come: Saturday October 19 - 3:00 - 5:00pm at the Cape Elizabeth Community Center 343 Ocean House Road Cape Elizabeth 04107 (Jamie Higgins Meet is Sunday, new officials will be able to start shadowing at the meet)

There will be registrations accepted at the door on Saturday for the Gaines/Dwyer Breakout Clinic. The schedule has been slightly changed, Rowdy and Conor will present when the registrations begin at 10:00am to sign autographs for the swimmers. Swimmers will have a group picture with their 'Breakout' at 11:00am, the clinic will run from 11:00 - 2:50pm, Conor and Rowdy must leave at this time to make it back in time for their flights home.

The Bowdoin Open Meet Information and the event file are now available. Entries will be accepted beginning on October 1 and the deadline is December 5. This year the Bowdoin Open will be accpeting bids for t-shirt sales, concessions, and merchandise sales. Please review the requirements and send any bids to Brad Burnham. The 2nd Annual Maine Swimming Coaches Conference will be held on October 5 at the Bath YMCA from 8:00 - 10:30am. All Maine Coaches are welcome to attend the event. Presenters will be Brad Burnham (Bowdoin) and Peter Casares (Bates). Jay Morissette and Leanne Gravel will provide recaps of the ASCA World Clinic and the USA Swimming Convention. The featured presenters will be Rowdy Gaines (3-time Olympic Gold Medalist) and Conor Dwyer (Olympic Gold Medalist).

The proposed Qualifying Times for the Maine Winter Championships to be held at Bowdoin College from March 13 - 16 are available. The times will be approved by the Maine House of Delegates on October 5. 14 Girls events and 7 Boys events have been changed forthe upcoming season. The changes are in bold.

The Fall Meeting of the Maine Swimming House of Delegates (HOD) will be held on October 5 at the Bath YMCA from 4:00 - 6:00pm. There will be pizza, snacks, and drinks for before the meeting. An agenda will be available in the coming weeks. Each club may not miss two HOD meetings in a row or they will liable for $50 for each offense. These meetings set the course for Maiine Swimming for next year are important for all.

A Technical Planning Committe (TPC) meeting will be held on 8/27th at the cottage summer estate of Frederick Homans at Bayside (Northport). The address is 9 Broadway, Northport. Cottage is called, "Bluewater" and has a sign sayin' so. The time of the meeting will be 12 noon The focus of the meeting will be a review of MSI bylaws and Policy and Procedures. The 2013-14 Maine Swimming Event/Meet Schedule is now available. Please check the schedule to make sure that it is accurate, changes will be made before the schedule is updated on the event page on the website. We still do not have a date for the Fall HOD but should have one in a matter of days. We also need meet dates for Spring Nationals (?), Summer Nationals, Summmer Junior Nationals, Eastern Zone Super Sectional, and Eastern Zone LC Champs. If anyone has those dates could you please pass them along.
