His family moved to Suriname when he was seven months old, and he started swimming at the age of 5. The Developmental 1 Meet starts November 6th! So far we have six teams competing in the sanctioned event and four teams competing non-sanctioned event. Results will be merged!. Maine Swimming is mourning the loss of Hall-of-Fame member Emily Caras Snyder. Emily passed away unexpectedly on September 17th from cardiac arrest. Emily began swimming for Coastal Maine Aquatics (CMA) in 1993 at the age of six. As her swimming career progressed, she set several state records across multiple age groups and currently still holds 34 of those records. In 1998, at the age of 10, she was ranked number one in the country in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.73), 100-yard freestyle (56.91), and 50-yard butterfly (28.27). That year, she was...

Robert Menck III, Bob to friends and family, died peacefully July 21, 2020, as his partner Lisa held his hand. He was the son of Carol (Meddaugh) Menck and the late Robert Menck Jr. He was born in Smallwood, NY October 12, 1960 and moved with his family to Brattleboro, VT. He graduated from Brattleboro Union High School, where he participated in the band and played football in 1978. On July 11, 2020 the MESI House of Delegates approved Maine Swimming's new LOGO! This logo was designed in collaboration with USA Swimming and is the first LSC design approved in this process! On Thursday Feb 20 for the lunch shift 10:30-1:30 we will be partnering with Preble Street to volunteer our time to help them serve lunch at their soup kitchen for those who are in need. Preble Street provides a nutritious meal to crisis intervention, clean clothes to health care, showers to a permanent home, Preble Street programs not only meet urgent needs but also create solutions to homelessness and hunger.
