Fire in Colorado Springs
Bar Harbor, ME – USA Swimming’s Eastern Zone Consultant, Peter Clark, tragically lost his home recently in the Colorado wild fires in Colorado Springs. Peter and his wife lost everything in the fires, but they are alive and trying to move on with their life. The picture to the right is of the Clark’s home after the fire.
Peter has been an invaluable resource to Maine Swimming and to most of the clubs during his tenure with Maine Swimming. He has been to Maine on least 3 occasions, and I would expect when life returns to normal he will be back again to provide information and insight. He is still just a phone call away and is ready to provide his knowledge at any time to all the clubs, swimmers, coaches, and volunteers within the state.
All the Local Swim Committees (LSC’s) of the Eastern Zone are teaming up to help the Clark’s move forward after this devastating event. Maine Swimming (MSI) has approved a matching donation up to $500 to help. We will match any donation from a club or individual until August 15, 2012.
If you wish to make a donation, you may come to the program sales table or to the meet management table anytime during Summer Champs. We will gladly accept any donation – even if it is Canadian currency.
